KIPINÄ, a swiss Folk-Music-Group, were founded in January 2011. A one-time performance on a Music school concert got the ball rolling. We were a thrown together group of four young girls between 11 and 15 years. But with the first performance already we let ourself get drawn in by the cheeky but also melancholic tunes of the finnish Folk-Music. The spark, one of our violinists arouse in her enthusiasm and rapture for finnish music quickly covered the whole group. Our group name: KIPINÄ was picked for that exact reason, since it means "firespark"
Our band plays in the typical formation with 3 violins and a harmonium. We got the possibility to perform on numerous occasions and present our audience with musical delicacies. Through our enthusiasm to play, the virtuous pieces and a burning passion for the nordic harmonics we already made a name for ourselves. In our region we are treated as an insider tip. KIPINÄ charms with their refreshing and lively way and takes their audience to a journey into the country of a thousand lakes and forests.
